Abstract
A laxative preparation obtained by the direct bioactive chloroform or methanolic extraction of rhizomes and/or roots of Picrorrhiza Kurroa and its method for manufacture. The laxative preparation can be used for treatment of human beings for relieving constipation using the same.

A laxative preparation prepared by a methanolic and chloroform extraction of rhizome and/or roots of Picrorrhiza Kurroa, wherein the contrast comprises a laxative effective amount of ferulic acid.
