Abstract
There is disclosed a method for preventing tissue injury caused by tissue hypoxia and reoxygenation, comprising administering a compound that inhibits signal transduction by inhibiting cellular accumulation of linoleoyl phosphatidic acid (PA) through an inhibition of the enzyme LPAAT (lysophosphatidic acyltransferase).
Claims8
A method for treating or preventing a disease caused by hypoxic tissue injury, comprising administering a clinically achievable, effective amount of a compound that inhibits signal transduction by inhibiting cellular accumulation of linoleate-containing phosphatidic acid (PA) through an inhibition of the enzyme lysophosphatidic acyltransferase.
A method of treating cystic fibrosis, comprising administering an effective amount of a compound that inhibits signal transduction by inhibiting cellular accumulation of non-arachidonyl, linoleate or myristylated-containing PA through an inhibition of the enzyme LPAAT.
