A compound archery bow comprising a handle, at least one eccentric cam, a bowstring and cables, a cable saver for separating the bowstring and the cables to permit an arrow to pass therethrough, and a traveling vibration dampener for dampening bowstring oscillation, and wherein said vibration dampener is mounted in an opening in a bumper stem connected to said cable saver for movement therewith.
