Abstract
A method of manufacturing a capacitor stack for a flat capacitor includes sequentially stacking a plurality of capacitor layers on top of each other such that each one of the plurality of capacitor layers is, in turn, a top layer of the capacitor stack, and continually applying a compression force between a bottom layer of the capacitor stack and the top layer of the capacitor stack until all of the plurality of capacitor layers have been placed.

A method of forming a capacitor stack for a flat capacitor, the method comprising:
- sequentially placing a plurality of capacitor layers on top of each other such that each one of the plurality of capacitor layers is, in turn, a top layer of a capacitor stack;
- and
- while placing each of the plurality of capacitor layers, continually applying a compression force between a bottom layer of the capacitor stack and the top layer of the capacitor stack until each of the plurality of capacitor layers is placed.
A method of maintaining alignment of a capacitor stack which includes a plurality of capacitor layers, the method comprising:
- aligning each of the plurality of capacitor layers as each capacitor layer is being placed on top of a preceding capacitor layer of the capacitor stack;
- and
- while placing each of the plurality of capacitor layers, continually applying a compression force on the capacitor stack to hold each of the capacitor layers in that capacitor layer's aligned position until each of the plurality of capacitor layers is placed.
A method of forming a capacitor stack, the method comprising:
- placing a first capacitor layer onto a base pad which has a continually applied upward force applied to it such that the base pad forces the first capacitor layer upward while a pair of upper members apply a downward force on opposing top edge surfaces of the first capacitor layer;
- aligning and placing a second capacitor layer on top of the first capacitor layer by using a placement member to press a central portion of the second capacitor layer into a central portion of the first capacitor layer while opposing top edge surfaces of the second capacitor layer remain above the pair of upper members;
- moving the pair of upper members so that the opposing top edge surfaces of the second capacitor layer fall against a top surface of the first capacitor layer;
- moving the pair of upper members back so that the pair of upper members are on top of the opposing top edge surfaces of the second capacitor layer;
- removing the placement member;
- and
- repeatedly aligning and placing a plurality of capacitor layers onto previously placed capacitor layers until a capacitor stack is formed.
A method of forming a capacitor stack, the method comprising:
- applying an upward force on a base pad with a forcing member;
- placing a first capacitor layer onto the base pad;
- applying a downward force on opposing top edge surfaces of the first capacitor layer with a pair of upper members;
- placing a second capacitor layer on top of the first capacitor layer by using a placement member to place the second capacitor layer onto the first capacitor layer while opposing top edge surfaces of the second capacitor layer remain above the pair of upper members;
- moving the pair of upper members so that the opposing top edge surfaces of the second capacitor layer fall against a top surface of the first capacitor layer;
- moving the pair of upper members back so that the pair of upper members are on top of the opposing top edge surfaces of the second capacitor layer;
- removing the placement member;
- and
- repeatedly placing a plurality of capacitor layers onto previously placed capacitor layers until a capacitor stack is formed.
