Abstract
Metal oxide coated substrates are disclosed comprising a three dimensional inorganic nano substrate having a coating of metal oxide on at least a portion of all three dimensions thereof, produced by a unique process having particular applicability to the manufacture of tin oxide coated three dimensional substrates. Certain novel coated substrates, such as flakes, spheres and porous substrates are disclosed. The coated substrates are useful in polymer, catalysis, heating and shielding applications.
Claims30
An article comprising three dimensional metal oxide coated inorganic nano particle substrates having substrate external surfaces and shielded surfaces which are at least partially shielded by other portions of said substrate, a particle size distribution having 90 percent by number of said particles less than 1 micron and having a metal oxide interactant coating thermally associated with said external surface, said metal oxide coating being on at least a portion of said external and shielded surfaces.
An article comprising three dimensional metal oxide coated inorganic nano particle substrates having substrate external surfaces and shielded surfaces which are at least partially shielded by other portions of said substrate, a particle size distribution having 90 percent by number of said particles less than 1 micron and having a crystalline metal oxide interactant coating thermally associated with said external surface, said metal oxide coating being on at least a portion of said external and shielded surfaces.
An article comprising three dimensional smecticite metal oxide coated inorganic nano particle substrates having substrate external surfaces and shielded surfaces which are at least partially shielded by other portions of said substrate, a particle size distribution having 90 percent by number of said particles less than 1 micron and having a metal oxide coating thermally associated with said external surface, said metal oxide interactant coating being on at least a portion of said external and shielded surfaces.
