Abstract
The present invention relates to processes for the purification of proteins. More specifically, methods for solubilizing and purifying proteins expressed in an insoluble form using low concentrations of chaotropic agents, such as guanidine salts, are provided. Also provided are methods for refolding proteins solubilized according to the present invention.
Claims15
A composition comprising a biologically active chemokine and a buffer at pH 4.5, wherein said chemokine is selected from the group consisting of myeloid progenitor inhibitory factor (MPIF-1) and myeloid progenitor inhibitory factor-1 having the N-terminal 23 amino acids deleted (MPIF-1d23).
A composition comprising a soluble chemokine in a solution containing a chaotropic agent at a concentration of about 0.7 M to about 3.5 M, wherein said chemokine is selected from the group consisting of myeloid progenitor inhibitory factor (MPIF-1) and myeloid progenitor inhibitory factor-1 having the N-terminal 23 amino acids deleted (MPIF-1d23), and wherein said chaotropic agent is selected from the group consisting of guanidine isothiocyanate and urea.
