Abstract
The invention discloses certain N-(substituted glycyl)-pyrrolidines, pharmaceutical compositions containing said compounds as an active ingredient thereof, and the use of said compounds in inhibiting dipeptidyl peptidase-IV.

A compound of formula I:
- wherein R is a group [Parenopenst]CH2[Parenclosest]2NH—R1, where R1 is an unsubstituted pyridine ring or a pyridine ring mono- or di-substituted by halo, trifluoromethyl, cyano or nitro;
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
A compound of formula Ib:
- wherein R″ is a group [Parenopenst]CH2[Parenclosest]2NH—R″1, where R″1 is a pyridine ring mono- or a di-substituted by halo, trifluoromethyl, cyano or nitro;
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
A compound of formula Ic:
- wherein R″′ is a group [Parenopenst]CH2[Parenclosest]2NH—R″′1, where R″′1 is a pyridine ring monosubstituted by halo, trifluoromethyl, cyano or nitro;
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
