Abstract
A silver/silver halide electrode composed of a non-electroconductive support sheet, a silver metal layer and a silver halide layer in order, is improved in its sensitivity by making the silver halide layer almost free from heavy metal element, for instance, by oxidizing the silver metal layer on its surface side with an oxidizing compound containing no heavy metal element or a chelated ferric oxidizing compound in the presence of a halide containing no heavy metal element.
Claims6
A method for producing an ion-selective silver/silver halide electrode element comprising a non-electroconductive support sheet, a silver metal layer, and a silver halide layer containing no heavy metal element, the method comprising oxidizing a silver metal layer provided on a non-electroconductive support sheet with an oxidizing compound which is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen peroxide, potassium peroxodisulfate and sodium peroxodisulfate, in the presence of a halide containing no heavy metal element.
A method for producing an ion-selective silver-silver halide electrode element comprising a non-electroconductive support sheet, a silver metal layer, and a silver halide layer containing no heavy metal element, the method comprising oxidizing a silver metal layer provided on a non-electroconductive support sheet with a chelated ferric compound in the presence of a halide containing no heavy metal element.
