Liquid crystal display device

A liquid crystal display device comprising:

• a pair of substrates with liquid crystals sandwiched therebetween;
• a plurality of pixel regions provided between the liquid crystals and one of the substrates;
• a plurality of gate signal lines and drain signal lines;
• and
• one electrode, an insulating film, and another electrode being formed within each of the pixel regions defined as a region surrounded by a pair of the gate signal lines and a pair of drain signal lines,
• wherein the one electrode is a flat plane-shaped pixel electrode corresponding to one respective pixel having a pair of long sides and a pair of short sides,
• the another electrode is a comb-shaped counter electrode with multiple teeth each shaped in a strap,
• at least a part of the another electrode overlaps one of said drain signal line pair,
• one tooth of the comb-shaped electrode formed above the drain signal line is wider than the other teeth of the comb-shaped electrode, and
• the one electrode is wider than the region where the other teeth of the comb-shaped electrode are formed.
