Abstract
A method for the detection of a disease comprising the steps of: (i) obtaining a biological sample from a human subject; (ii) applying the biological sample to a sialidase substrate which has been immobilized on a solid support medium; and (iii) detecting a change in the immobilized sialidase substrate is provided. The substrate is preferably 5-bromo-4-chloro-3-indoyl α-D-N-acetyl neuraminic acid or a salt thereof.
Claims7
A method for the detection of a disease comprising the following steps:
- (i) obtaining a biological sample from a human subject;
- (ii) applying the biological sample to a sialidase substrate 5-bromo-4-chloro-3-indoyl α-D-N-acetyl neuraminic acid or a salt thereof, which has been immobilised on a solid support medium;
- and
- (iii) detecting a change in the immobilised sialidase substrate.
1 more element
A method for the detection of sialidase activity in a sample, which method comprises the following steps:
- (a) contacting said sample with a test reagent comprising 5-bromo-4-chloro-3-indoyl α-D-N-acetyl neuraminic acid or a salt thereof;
- and
- (b) detecting a change in the test reagent.
