Abstract
A method and arrangement for bit-synchronizing a ΣΔ-modulator uses a pre-filter to filter an incoming single bit bitstream. One or more of the integrator states of the ΣΔ-modulator are corrected by a signal which is calculated from the incoming bitstream and at least one of the pre-filtered input signal and the output bitstream of the ΣΔ-modulator.

A method of synchronizing a ΣΔ-modulator comprising a low pass filter and a quantizer in a feedback arrangement to an incoming single-bit bitstream, comprising the steps of generating a correction signal and applying said correction signal to one of a plurality of integrator stages of the low pass filter, pre-filtering the incoming bitstream (x(n)) prior to application to the ΣΔ-modulator and generating the correction signal (ε, s(n)) from a pre-filtered input signal (u(n)) and an outgoing bitstream (y(n)) of the ΣΔ-modulator.
