Cleaning compositions in the form of a tablet

A multi-layered cleaning tablet which comprises approximately by weight:

• (a) 40% to 60% of an colored citric acid in the form of speckles wherein the color can be purple, pink, yellow or red;
• (b) 20% to 30% of an alkali metal bicarbonate;
• (c) 2% to 8% of a magnesium containing inorganic salt;
• (d) 1% to 9% of a clay;
• (e) 1% to 10% of a sulfonated anionic surfactant;
• (f) 0.1% to 4% of a crosslinked poly (poly vinyl pyrrolidone) polymer prepared by popcorn polymerization;
• (g) 0.5% to 1% of an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal salt of a fatty acid such as magnesium stearate.
