Abstract
Multicomponent superabsorbent gel particles are disclosed. The multicomponent particles comprise at least one acidic water-absorbing resin and at least one basic water-absorbing resin. Each particle contains at least one microdomain of the acidic resin in contact with, or in close proximity to, at least one microdomain of the basic resin.
Claims22
Superabsorbent polymer particles having a saline flow conductivity of at least 125×10−7 cm3 sec/g and having an initial performance under pressure capacity rate of greater than 50 g/g/hr1/2.
Superabsorbent polymer particles having a saline flow conductivity greater than 1000×10−7 cm3 sec/g.
Superabsorbent polymer particles having an initial performance under pressure capacity rate of at least 50 g/g/hr1/2.
Superabsorbent polymer particles having a free swell rate greater than 0.35 g/g/sec.
Superabsorbent polymer particles having an absorbance under a load of 0.7 psi after 3 hours of at least about 40 grams of synthetic urine per gram of particles.
