Polycarbonate articles and adhesive composition therefor

An article comprising:

• a) a first polycarbonate substrate;
• b) a second polycarbonate substrate;
• and
• polycarbonate substrate is bonded to said second polycarbonate substrate through said pressure sensitive adhesive film, said article being substantially free of debonding after exposure to 85% relative humidity at 80° C. for 100 hours, and said adhesive film comprising an adhesive polymer. wherein the adhesive polymer includes more than 30 parts by weight of the N-vinyl containing monomer per 100 parts by weight of the adhesive polymer.

An article comprising:

• a) a first polycarbonate substrate;
• b) a second polycarbonate substrate;
• and
• c) a pressure sensitive adhesive film laminated between said first polycarbonate substrate and said second polycarbonate substrate such that said first polycarbonate substrate is bonded to said second polycarbonate substrate through said adhesive composition,
• said pressure sensitive adhesive film comprising an adhesive polymer derived from ingredients comprising:
• 1) a nitrogen containing monomer that is copolymerizable with an acrylic acid ester monomer and whose AlogP value is 1.0, wherein the adhesive polymer includes more than 30 parts by weight of an N-vinyl containing monomer per 100 parts by weight of the adhesive polymer.;
• 2) an acrylic acid ester monomer of a non-tertiary alcohol having an alkyl group comprising 4 to 20 carbon atoms, whose homopolymer has a Tg less than 0° C.;
• 3) optionally a monoethylenically unsaturated monomer having from 4 to 20 carbon atoms in the alkyl group, whose homopolymer has a Tg of greater than 10° C.;
• 4) optionally a substituted acrylamide;
• 5) optionally an initiator;
• 6) optionally a cross-linking agent;
• and
• 7) optionally a chain transfer agent.
