Abstract
The oxygen resin composition of the present invention includes: a thermoplastic resin (a) having carbon-carbon double bonds; a gas barrier resin (b) having an oxygen transmission rate of 500 ml·20 μm/m2·day·atm or less (20° C. 65% RH); and a transmission matel salt (c). This resin composition and molded articles formed using the resin composition effectively absorb and scavenge oxygen when used to package products susceptible to degradation by oxygen, such as foods and drinks.
Claims17
An oxygen absorptive resin composition comprising:
- a thermoplastic resin (a) having carbon-carbon double bonds;
- a gas barrier resin (b) having an oxygen transmission rate at 20° C. and 65% relative humidity, of 500 ml·20 μm/m2·day·atm or less;
- and
- a transition metal salt (c);
- wherein the gas barrier resin (b) is at least one selected from the group consisting of polyvinyl alcohol resins, polyamides, and polyacrylonitrile,
- wherein the thermoplastic resin (a) is contained in an amount of 0.1 to 30% by weight, and the gas barrier resin (b) is contained in an amount of 99.9 to 70% by weight, and
- wherein the thermoplastic resin (a) is in the form of particles, the particles are dispersed in a matrix of the gas barrier resin (b), and the size of the particles is less than 10 μm.
