Abstract
A tissue product having improved hand feel and good wettability is produced by printing onto one or both sides of the tissue an aqueous emulsion containing a hydrophilically-modified amino-functional polydimethylsiloxane. The hydrophilically-modified amino-functional polydimethylsiloxane structure has one or more pendant groups containing an ethylene oxide moiety and/or propylene oxide moiety.
Claims15
A tissue having a Wet Out Time of about 8 seconds or less and containing at least about 0.5 dry weight percent of a hydrophilically-modified amino-functional polydimethylsiloxane having the following structure:
- wherein:
- “A” is selected from the group consisting of hydroxyl, C1-C8 alkyl radical, and C1-C8 alkoxyl radical, which can be straight chain, branched or cyclic, unsubstituted or substituted;
- R1, B and D are distributed in random or block fashion;
- R1=a C1-C6 alkyl radical, which can be straight chain, branched or cyclic;
- m=20-100,000;
- p =1-5,000;
- q=1-5,000;
- B=—R3—[(OC2H4)r—(OC3H7)s]t—O—(R4)z—W;
- wherein
- t=0 or 1;
- z=1;
- r=1-50,000;
- and
- s=0-50,000;
- R3—a C2-C8 alkylene diradical, which can be straight chain or branched, substituted or unsubstituted;
- R4=a C2-C8 alkylene diradical, which can be straight chain or branched, unsubstituted, or substituted with hydroxyl, alkoxyl, halo, organic ester or alkyl cyclic ethereal radicals;
- W=a —NR5R6 radical or —N R9:
- wherein
- R5 and R6 are independently a hydrogen, or a C1-C8 alkyl radical, which can be straight chain or branched, unsubstituted, or substituted with hydroxyl, alkoxyl, halo or organic ester radicals;
- R9 is a C3 to C8 alkylene diradical, unsubstituted, or substituted, which form a cyclic ring with the nitrogen;
- D=—R7—(OC2H4)x—(OC3H7)y—O—R8;
- wherein
- x=1-10,000;
- y=0-10,000;
- R7=a C2-C8 alkylene diradical, which can be straight chain or branched, substituted or unsubstituted;
- and
- R8 ×a hydrogen or a C1-C8 alkyl radical, which can be straight chain or branched, substituted or unsubstituted.
