Abstract
The present invention relates to an integrated circuit, at least one portion of which includes at least one group of standby cells for possible connection to said portion of the integrated circuit by replacement connections, the length of which cannot exceed a predetermined value. The inputs and outputs of the standby cells are connected to metal standby tracks being disposed on the circuit such that any node of the circuit portion is distant by at most said predetermined value from any point on the tracks.
Claims15
A method of implanting in a portion of an integrated circuit at least one group of standby cells connectable to nodes of said integrated circuit portion after manufacturing thereof by replacement connections, a length of which cannot exceed a predetermined value, including a step of connecting inputs and outputs of the standby cells to metal standby tracks, being disposed on the circuit such that any node of said circuit portion is distant at most by said predetermined value from any point on the tracks, the standby tracks being made solely in a highest possible metallization level.
A method of implanting in a portion of an integrated circuit at least one group of standby cells connectable to nodes of the portion of the integrated circuit, after manufacturing of the integrated circuit, by replacement connections, a length of the replacement connections not exceeding a predetermined value, the method comprising steps of:
- providing a plurality of non-overlapping metal standby tracks disposed on the integrated circuit, the metal standby tracks being arranged such that any of the nodes of the portion of the integrated circuit is distant from any point on the metal standby tracks by at most the predetermined value;
- and
- connecting inputs and outputs of the standby cells to the metal standby tracks.
A method of manufacturing an integrated circuit, at least a portion of the integrated circuit including a plurality of groups of standby cells connectable to the portion of the integrated circuit by replacement connections having a predetermined length, the method comprising steps of:
- providing a plurality of metal standby tracks being disposed on the integrated circuit such that any node of the portion is distant by at most the predetermined length from any point on the metal standby tracks;
- connecting inputs and outputs of the standby cells to the plurality of metal standby tracks;
- connecting inputs of a first group of the plurality of groups of standby cells to a ground of the integrated circuit;
- and
- connecting other groups of the plurality of groups of standby cells in series with the first group of standby cells using standby tracks arranged side by side in groups of standby tracks, so that no input of a standby cell is floating.
A method of manufacturing an integrated circuit comprising steps of:
- implanting at least one group of standby cells into a portion of the integrated circuit, the group of standby cells being connectable, after manufacturing of the integrated circuit, to nodes of the portion of the integrated circuit by replacement connections that do not exceed a predetermined length;
- providing a plurality of non-overlapping metal standby tracks on the integrated circuit, the plurality of metal standby tracks being arranged such that any one of the nodes of the portion of the integrated circuit is distant from any point on the plurality of metal standby tracks by at most the predetermined length;
- and
- connecting inputs and outputs of the group of standby cells to the plurality of metal standby tracks.
A method of manufacturing an integrated circuit, at least one portion of the integrated circuit including a group of standby cells connectable to the portion of the integrated circuit by replacement connections having a predetermined length, the method comprising steps of:
- connecting inputs and outputs of the standby cells to metal standby tracks being disposed on the integrated circuit such that any node of the portion is distant by at most the predetermined length from any point on the metal standby tracks;
- arranging the metal standby tracks into groups of standby tracks in a zigzag pattern on the portion of the integrated circuit in a succession of lines of same direction, extending across an entire width of the portion of the integrated circuit;
- and
- connecting the lines at each end using a portion of perpendicular column substantially equal to twice a length of the replacement connections.
