A compound of formula or oligomers thereof

• wherein R is H or
• R1 and R11 are each independently H, C1 to C4 alkyl and —CH2COOM in which M is H, Na, K or NH4;
• R2, R3, R4, R8, R9 and R10 are each independently H or C1 to C4 alkyl;
• R5, R6, R7, R12, R13 and R14 are each COOM1 in which M1 is H, Na, K, or NH4, and
• A is OH, H, C1 to C8 alkyl, cyclohexyl, aryl or OM2 in which M2 is H, Na, K or NH4 provided that when R1 and R11 are both present in the compound, one of R1 R11 is other than CH2COOM when A is OH.
