Abstract
A harmonic average data clustering method and system. First, a plurality of data points for clustering is received. Next, a number K of clusters is also received. Then, K center points are initialized. For each center point, a new center position is then determined by utilizing a K-Harmonic Means performance function.
Claims20
A method for clustering data comprising:
- (a) receiving a plurality of data points for clustering;
- (b) receiving a parameter (K) for specifying the number of clusters;
- (c) initializing K center points;
- and
- (d) for each center point determining a new center position by utilizing a K-Harmonic Means performance function.
2 more elements
A apparatus for clustering data comprising:
- (a) an initialization source for generating initial center points;
- and
- (b )a harmonic average clustering system coupled to the initialization source, the harmonic average clustering system having a first input for receiving a plurality of data points, a second input for receiving a number of clusters, a third input for receiving the initialization center points, a fourth input for receiving an s parameter, and a fifth input for receiving a harmonic average performance function, and based thereon for generating optimized center points.
