Mobile object combination detection apparatus and method

A method of detecting a mobile object comprising the steps of:

• determining a plurality of positions on a single moving image or a position on each of a plurality of moving images as mobile object detecting positions;
• detecting a mobile object at each of said detecting positions, and storing information for identifying the detecting position and detection time;
• and
• comparing said stored information for identifying the detecting position and detection time with a predetermined condition to determine that a target mobile object is detected when said stored information for identifying the detecting position and detection time satisfies said predetermined condition.

A program storage device readable by a machine, tangibly embodying a program of instructions executable by the machine to perform method steps for detecting a mobile object, said method steps comprising the steps of:

• determining a plurality of positions on a single moving image or a position on each of a plurality of moving images as mobile object detecting positions;
• detecting a mobile object at each of said detecting positions, and storing information for identifying the detecting position and detection time;
• and
• comparing said stored information for identifying the detecting position and detection time with a predetermined condition to determine that a target mobile object is detected when said stored information for identifying the detecting position and detection time satisfies said predetermined condition.

An object detection apparatus comprising:

• a plurality of image input means providing an image;
• a plurality of detection means each coupled to one of said image input means;
• and
• a combination determination means;
• wherein each of said plurality of detection means detects a changing information of a predetermined area within said image, and
• said combination determination means combines said changing information sent from said detection means and detects movement of an object based on said combined result of said changing information and a predetermined condition.
