Abstract
The present invention concerns a novel human cytokine. In particular, isolated nucleic acid molecules are provided encoding interleukin-19 (IL-19). IL-19 polypeptides are also provided, as are vectors, host cells and recombinant methods for producing the same. The invention further concerns therapeutic methods for modulating cytokine production.
Claims64
An isolated protein comprising amino acids 1 to 153 of SEQ ID NO:2.
An isolated protein comprising the mature amino acid sequence encoded by the cDNA in ATCC Deposit No. 97662.
An isolated first protein at least 95% identical to a second protein consisting of amino acids 1 to 153 of SEQ ID NO:2, wherein said first protein inhibits the synthesis of at least one cytokine selected from the group consisting of:
- interferon-γ, lymphotoxin, IL-2, IL-3 and GM-CSF.
An isolated first protein at least 95% identical to a second protein consisting of the mature amino acid sequence encoded by the cDNA in ATCC Deposit No. 97662, wherein said first protein inhibits the synthesis of at least one cytokine selected from the group consisting of:
- interferon-γ, lymphotoxin, IL-2, IL-3 and GM-CSF.
An isolated protein consisting of at least 30 contiguous amino acids of SEQ ID NO:2.
An isolated protein consisting of at least 30 contiguous amino acids of the full length amino acid sequence encoded by the cDNA in ATCC Deposit No. 97662.
An isolated protein consisting of a fragment of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2, wherein said fragment inhibits the synthesis of at least one cytokine selected from the group consisting of:
- interferon-γ, lymphotoxin, IL-2, IL-3 and GM-CSF.
An isolated protein consisting of a fragment of the complete amino acid sequence encoded by the cDNA in ATCC Deposit No. 97662, wherein said fragment inhibits the synthesis of at least one cytokine selected from the group consisting of:
- interferon-γ, lymphotoxin, IL-2, IL-3 and GM-CSF.
