Abstract
There is provided a topical composition for treating and/or preventing skin irritation induced by a retinoid. The composition has comfrey. There is also provided a method for treating and/or preventing skin irritation induced by a retinoid. An effective amount of comfrey is applied to the skin.

A method of treating, reducing, and/or ameliorating skin irritation induced by a retinoid, comprising applying to the skin a topical composition having an amount of comfrey effective to treat, reduce, and/or ameliorate the retinoid-induced skin irritation, wherein the topical composition is free of a cortisone.
