Abstract
A method for controlling operation of a centrifugal cooling apparatus, which has at least one of an evaporator, a centrifugal compressor having a magnetic bearing system, a condenser, and an expansion device, includes monitoring an operating condition of the magnetic bearing system, and controlling compressor flow stability based upon the operating condition of the magnetic bearing system.
Claims16
A method for controlling operation of a centrifugal cooling apparatus including at least one of an evaporator, a centrifugal compressor having a magnetic bearing system, a condenser, and an expansion device, wherein the centrifugal compressor has an adjustable speed motor, the method comprising:
- monitoring an operating condition of the magnetic bearing system;
- and
- maintaining compressor flow stability based upon the operating condition of the magnetic bearing system.
A method for controlling operation of a centrifugal cooling apparatus including a centrifugal compressor having a rotor and an adjustable speed motor used to drive the rotor, and a magnetic bearing system supporting the rotor, the method comprising:
- monitoring a parameter related to the operating condition of the magnetic bearing system;
- and
- maintaining compressor flow stability based on the parameter related to the operating condition of the magnetic bearing system.
