Resorcinolic compounds

A resorcinol derivative that has the following formula:

• wherein, R1, R3, R5, and R6 can optionally comprise —CO at the first position, and wherein R can otherwise be as follows
• R1 is:
• a lactone, OCH3, —CH(CH3)CO2H, or —OCOCH3;
• R2 is:
• a halogen or COOH;
• R3 is:
• a C5-12 alkyl;
• haloalkyl, alkenyl, haloalkenyl, alkynyl, or haloalkynyl, group, or mixture thereof;
• R4 is:
• bromine
• R5 is:
• a lactone, H, OH, or OCH3;
• and
• R6 is:
• ethyl, —CH(CH3)CO2H, CH2COOH, or —OCOCH3.
