EEPROM circuit, in particular a microcontroller including read while write EEPROM for code and data storing

An EEPROM circuit comprising:

• a program array of a matrix of EEPROM cells arranged in columns and rows;
• a data array of a matrix of EEPROM cells arranged in columns and rows, said cells of said program and data arrays being capable of being written to, read from, and erased;
• a reference voltage circuit coupled to said program and data arrays and structured for producing voltages used to write to and erase data from said program array;
• a first switch positioned between the reference voltage circuit and one of the columns of the data array and structured to selectively electrically connect a first reference voltage from the reference voltage circuit to the one of the columns;
• and
• a second switch positioned between the one of the columns of the data array and a corresponding column of the program array and structured to selectively electrically connect the one of the columns of the data array and the corresponding column of the program array.

An EEPROM circuit comprising:

• a program array of a matrix of EEPROM cells arranged in columns and rows;
• a data array of a matrix of EEPROM cells arranged in columns and rows, said cells of said program and data arrays being capable of being written to, read from, and erased;
• a reference voltage circuit coupled to said program and data arrays and structured for producing voltages used to write to and erase data from said program array;
• a first switch positioned between the reference voltage circuit and one of the rows of the data array and structured to selectively electrically connect a first reference voltage from the reference voltage circuit to the one of the rows;
• and
• a second switch positioned between the one of the rows of the data array and a corresponding row of the program array and structured to selectively electrically connect the one of the rows of the data array and the corresponding row of the program array.
