Weighted exercise apparatus and method

An exercise apparatus comprising:

• a plurality of weights, each weight being made of a reinforced thermoplastic elastomer gel composite comprising:
• reinforcement of solid particles of ceramic or metal greater than or equal to one micron in size;
• and
• a thermoplastic elastomer having polymer chains,
• said reinforcement being distributed thoughout and between said polymer chains, the composite having a durometer less than 50 shore A;
• a vest adapted to fit about the chest and back of a user, said vest having pockets which hold the weights;
• and
• an adjustable fitting mechanism which can tighten the vest about the user form the right and left sides of the user.
