Abstract
A cathode slurry for use in a lithium battery, comprised of: about 60% to about 70% by weight manganese dioxide; about 5% to about 10% by weight carbon; and about 25% to about 35% by weight of an electrolyte, said electrolyte comprised of: about 10% to about 40% by weight ethylene carbonate, about 60% to about 90% by weight propylene carbonate, and about 0.5 to about 1.5 moles of triflate salt.
Claims12
A thin layer electrochemical cell, comprising:

- a cathode slurry, comprised of:
- about 60% to about 70% by weight manganese dioxide,
- about 5% to about 10% by weight carbon, and
- about 25% to about 35% by weight of an electrolyte consisting essentially of ethylene carbonate, propylene carbonate and triflate salt.
A cathode slurry for use in a lithium battery, comprised of:
- about 60% to about 70% by weight manganese dioxide;
- about 5% to about 10% by weight carbon;
- and
- about 25% to about 35% by weight of an electrolyte, said electrolyte comprised of:
- about 10% to about 40% by weight ethylene carbonate,
- about 60% to about 90% by weight propylene carbonate, and
- about 0.5 to about 1.5 moles of triflate salt.
A thin layer electrochemical cell, comprising:
- a lithium-containing anode;
- and
- a cathode slurry, comprised of:
- a mixture of about 60% to about 70% by weight of a dry heated metal oxide powder and about 5% to about 10% by weight of dry heated carbon powder, said metal oxide powder and carbon powder mixture having an initial moisture content of less than 200 ppm, and
- about 25% to about 35% by weight of an electrolyte consisting essentially of ethylene carbonate, propylene carbonate and triflate salt.
