Abstract
The piezoelectric bending transducer has a support formed of a fiber-reinforced thermosetting material and a piezoceramic layer thermobonded to at least one side of the support. The fiber material has a coefficient of thermal expansion of less than −0.5·10−6/K and the fibers extend unidirectionally and parallel to the longitudinal direction of the support. The novel bending transducer exhibits superior deflection capabilities.
Claims9
A piezoelectric bending transducer, comprising:
- a support formed of a thermosetting material reinforced with fibers of a fiber material;
- and
- a piezoceramic coating thermobonded to at least one side of said support;
- said support extending in a longitudinal direction and said fibers extending substantially unidirectionally and parallel to said longitudinal direction, and said fiber material having a coefficient of thermal expansion of less than −0.5·10−6/K.
