A platelet/additive solution comprising bicarbonate, citrate and glucose. Additionally, a platelet/additive and treatment solution comprising bicarbonate, citrate, glucose and a photosensitizer.
Claims2
A fluid to be used in the decontamination treatment of and the storage of blood or blood components comprising:
- a nutrient;
- 7,8-dimethyl-10-ribityl isoalloxazine;
- a buffer;
- and
- an anticoagulant
- wherein the nutrient comprises glucose in a concentration between 33-55 μM, wherein the buffer comprises bicarbonate in a concentration between 63-95 μM, and wherein the anticoagulant comprises citrate in a concentration between 5.1-8.8 μM.
