Abstract
A panel fastener is produced by forming a casing blank with two coplanar sides unitarily connected together at one end by a bridge, bending the bridge to bring the two sides to a position parallel with each other bout a portion of a hook, and fastening together the other ends of the two casing sides thereby rotatably capturing the hook.
Claims3
A method of forming and assembling a panel fastener comprising the steps of forming a casing blank with two coplanar sides each having a boss, the sides being unitarily connected together at one end by a bridge, bending the bridge to bring the two sides to a position parallel with each other rotatably capturing a socket of a hook in the bosses for pivotal movement of the hook along a pivotal path of travel, and fastening together the other ends of the two casing sides with a fastener located within the hook's path of travel whereby the tab provides both a casing sides fastener and a hook travel stop.
