Technique for hanging strap from edge of furniture

A method comprising the steps of:

• attaching a first base to a first end of a bracket to form a first apparatus, wherein the first apparatus can be placed on an edge of a piece of furniture so that the first base sits on a top surface of the piece of furniture;
• detaching the first base from the first end of the bracket;
• and
• attaching a second base, which is different in appearance from the first base, to the first end of the bracket to form a second apparatus, wherein the second apparatus can be placed on the edge of the piece of furniture so that the second base sits on the top surface of the piece of furniture;
• wherein the piece of furniture is a table top;
• wherein the first base has a bottom surface which contacts the top surface of the table top when the first apparatus is placed on the edge of the table top and the second base has a bottom surface which contacts the top surface of the table top when the second apparatus is placed on the edge of the table top;
• wherein the bracket includes a rim at the second end of the bracket and a portion connected to the rim;
• and wherein the rim has a larger diameter than the portion, so that the strap placed over the portion will be prevented from falling off of the bracket.

An apparatus comprising

• a first base
• a second base which differs in appearance from the first base;
• and
• a C-shaped bracket having a first end and a second end;
• and
• wherein the first base can be attached to the first end of the C-shaped bracket to form a first device, wherein the first device can be placed on an edge of a piece of furniture so that the first base sits on a top surface of the piece of furniture, and a strap can be hung from the second end of the C-shaped bracket;
• wherein the first base can be detached from the first end of the C-shaped bracket;
• wherein the second base can be attached to a first end of the C-shaped bracket to form a second device, wherein the second device can be placed on the edge of the piece of furniture so that the second base sits on the top surface of the piece of furniture;
• and wherein the second base can be detached from the first end of the C-shaped bracket.
