Abstract
The invention relates to an anti-inflammatroy oligopeptide which can be obtained from the microorganism Entamoeba histolytica or synthesized by known methods. The oligopeptides are useful in treating inflammatory diseases when formulated in pharmaceutical compositions for administration to patients.

A composition comprising a single isolated oligopeptide obtained form Entamoeba histolytica comprising the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:1 or SEQ ID NO:2.
A homodimmer comprising a pair of oligopeptides, each oligopeptide comprising the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:1.
A heterodimer consisting of the oligopeptide of SEQ ID NO:1 which is first isolated then covalently linked to another and different peptide.
A heterodimer consisting of the oligopeptide of SEQ ID NO:1 which is first isolated and then bound to a chemical entity.
