Disclosed is a new Streptomyces candidus strain, and relevant uses thereof.

A method for promoting germination of seeds, which comprises applying to the seeds a germination stimulator, which comprises an effective amount of borrelidin together with an agriculturally acceptable carrier, adjuvant or diluent thereof.
