Abstract
A micro-structure template for fabricating ordered arrays of particles includes a top surface and a bottom surface, with the top surface having a plurality of closely-spaced depressions. Particles are disposed in the closely-spaced depressions to form at least one layer of particles.
Claims25
A micro-structure template for fabricating ordered arrays comprising:
- a template substrate having a top surface and a bottom surface, said top surface having a pattern, said pattern comprising a plurality of closely-spaced depressions;
- means for disposing a plurality of particles in said plurality of closely-spaced depressions to form at least one layer of said plurality of particles in said plurality of closely-spaced depressions;
- and
- a plurality of neck portions separating each of said particles disposed in said closely spaced depressions from said bottom surface of the template.
