Electrophotographic photoconductor and method of producing aromatic polycarbonate resin for use in the photoconductor

A method of producing an aromatic polycarbonate resin comprising, solution polymerizing a diphenol compound having a triarylamine structure with a diol compound of formula (I):

• wherein R1 and R2 are each independently alkyl or alkyl substituted by F, CN, phenyl or phenyl substituted by halogen or straight or branched chain alkyl having 1-5C, aryl or aryl substituted by the above-mentioned substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkoxy substituted by the above-mentioned substituted or substituted alkyl, halogen or amino represented by the following formula:
• in which R5 and R6 are each the above-mentioned substituted or unsubstituted alkyl or the above-mentioned substituted or unsubstituted aryl, and R5 and R6 may form a ring together or in combination with a carbon atom of the aryl to constitute piperidino, morpholino or julolidyl;
• a and b are each independently an integer of 0 to 4;
• and Y is —COO— or
• wherein Z is a bivalent aliphatic group or a bivalent aliphatic group substituted by the substituents for the above-mentioned alkyl or arylene or arylene substituted by the substituents for the above-mentioned aryl.
