Abstract
Process for the radiation crosslinking of double-sided adhesive tapes, in which a backing material coated on both sides with adhesives is irradiated asymmetrically from both sides with different doses in an irradiation means.
Claims13
A process for radiation cross-linking of a double-sided adhesive tape comprising the steps of
- a) providing a backing material having a first and a second side;
- b) coating the first and the second side with a layer of adhesive, each having a thickness;
- c) irradiating the first side with electron beam radiation to provide radiation cross-linking of the adhesive layer;
- d) irradiating the second side with ultra violet radiation-to provide radiation cross-linking of the adhesive layer;
- and
- wherein the radiation dose and acceleration energy used for irradiating the first side is less than the radiation dose and acceleration energy used for irradiating the second side.
