Abstract
A plurality of frames constituting a screen are divided into a plurality of groups such as G1 through G4. The number of pixels per line is made different between any adjacent two of these groups in such a manner that all lines included in each group will have the same number of pixels each. There should be a plurality of groups such as G2 through G4 which exclude lines having active pixels corresponding to image portions. Lines 1 through 480 having active pixels may have the same number of pixels each. The number of pixels per line is allowed to be different by 1 between any adjacent two of the groups.
Claims20
A semiconductor integrated circuit for outputting a first video signal which corresponds to a screen and which has a plurality of pixels on each of a plurality of lines constituting said screen, part of said pixels being active pixels representing image portions to be displayed on a display device;
- wherein, when said plurality of lines are divided into a plurality of line groups each including at least two consecutive lines, the lines included in each group have the same number of pixels each and the number of pixels per line is made different between any adjacent two of said plurality of line groups;
- and
- wherein said plurality of line groups include a plurality of line groups excluding lines having said active pixels.
A semiconductor integrated circuit for outputting a video signal which corresponds to a screen and which has a plurality of pixels on each of a plurality of lines constituting said screen, part of said pixels being active pixels representing image portions to be displayed on a display device, said semiconductor integrated circuit comprising a plurality of first registers;
- wherein, when said plurality of lines are divided into a plurality of line groups each including at least two lines, the lines included in each group have the same number of pixels each and the number of pixels per line is made different between any adjacent two of said plurality of line groups;
- and
- wherein the number of lines included in each of said plurality of line groups is determined based on values placed in said plurality of first registers.
A semiconductor integrated circuit for outputting in synchronism with a clock signal a video signal which corresponds to a screen and which has a plurality of pixels on each of a plurality of lines constituting said screen, said semiconductor integrated circuit comprising:
- a pixel counter for counting up said clock signal in order to output a pixel number on each line;
- a comparator for comparing a count value of said pixel counter with a comparative value;
- a line counter for counting up a match signal output by said comparator in order to output a line number;
- and
- a controller for supplying said comparative value to said comparator;
- wherein said controller further includes:
- a plurality of decision circuits for which mutually exclusive ranges are established and which judge whether a count value of said line counter falls within any one of the established ranges;
- and
- a first selector which receives a plurality of mutually exclusive values and selects one of the values in accordance with the judgments by said plurality of decision circuits, the selected value being output as said comparative value to said comparator.
