Magnetic head drive circuit including paired auxiliary coils, paired switching elements, and switch element control circuit, and magneto-optical recording device using the same

A magnetic head drive circuit which applies a current for recording an information signal to a magnetic field generating coil of a magnetic head, comprising:

• a pair of auxiliary coils;
• a pair of switch elements connected in series to said pair of auxiliary coils;
• and
• a switch element control circuit for controlling said switch elements,
• wherein said magnetic field generating coil is provided between connection points of said pair of auxiliary coils and said pair of switch elements, said switch element control circuit switches a direction of a drive current flowing through said magnetic field generating coil by alternately setting ON said pair of switch elements according to an information signal during recording of an information signal, and maintains said switch element in an ON state when the recording of the information signal is stopped, and then switches said switch element from the ON state to an OFF state slower than in said recording of the information signal.
