Abstract
A method for manufacturing a multidomain liquid crystal display panel, including the steps of forming a photo-alignment layer on a substrate, positioning a mask having a plurality of regions with different photo-transmittances; and forming different alignment directions in different domains of the photo-alignment layer corresponding to each of the plurality of regions by irradiating the photo-alignment layer with light through the mask.
Claims26
A method for manufacturing a multi-domain liquid crystal display panel comprising:
- forming a photo-alignment layer on a substrate, the photo-alignment layer having a plurality of domains and having a mixture of photosensitive materials photoreacting to light of different ranges of wavelength;
- positioning a mask having a plurality of regions with different photo-transmittances;
- and
- forming different alignment directions in each domain of the photo-alignment layer corresponding to each of the plurality of regions by irradiating the photo-alignment layer with light through the mask, wherein the alignment directions in the regions having mutually orthogonal directions.
A method for manufacturing a multi-domain liquid crystal display panel comprising:
- forming a first alignment layer on a first substrate, the first alignment layer having a mixture of photosensitive materials photoreacting to light of different ranges of wavelength;
- forming a second alignment layer on a second substrate;
- and
- forming a liquid crystal layer between the first and second substrates,
- wherein the first alignment layer includes a plurality of first and second domains, and an alignment direction of the first domain is orthogonal to an alignment direction of the second domain.
A multi-domain liquid crystal display panel comprising:
- a first substrate and a second substrate;
- a first alignment layer on the first substrate, the first alignment layer having a mixture of photosensitive materials photoreacting to light of different ranges of wavelength;
- and
- a liquid crystal layer between the first and second substrates,
- wherein the first alignment layer includes a plurality of first and second domains, and an alignment direction of the first domain is orthogonal to an alignment direction of the second domain.
