Abstract
Novel compositions and methods are disclosed for manufacturing an artificial prosthesis, whether for medical, dental or cosmetic use. The compositions include a family of monomeric esters having increased solvency and decreased volatility.
Claims42
A composition capable of polymerizing into a solid form comprising:
- a polymeric filler compound in powder form;
- a polymerization catalyst;
- and
- a compound of the formula I
- wherein R1 is hydrogen or C1-C10 straight or branched chain, substituted or unsubstituted, saturated or unsaturated alkyl, R2 is C1-C10 straight or branched chain, substituted or unsubstituted, saturated or unsaturated alkyl, and R3 is hydrogen or C1-C10 straight or branched chain, substituted or unsubstituted, saturated or unsaturated alkyl.

The composition of claim 21 wherein the pigment is titanium dioxide or zinc oxide.
A composition capable of polymerizing into a solid form comprising:
- a polymeric filler compound in powder form;
- a polymerization catalyst;
- and
- acetoxyethyl methacrylate.
