Abstract
Antiatherosclerotic compounds are provided which have the following structure: wherein R is lower alkyl; R1 is hydroxy, amino, or lower alkoxy, R2 and R3 are each independently hydrogen, alkyl or aryl; Ar is phenyl, indanyl, benzhydryl, or phenyl substituted with one or more member selected from the group consisting of halogen, lower alkyl, perfluoroalkyl, lower alkoxy, perfluoroalkylalkoxy, dialkylamino, and aryloxy; or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
Claims14
Antiatherosclerotic compounds of the formula:
- wherein
- R is lower alkyl;
- R1 is hydroxy, amino, or lower alkoxy,
- R2 and R3 are each independently hydrogen, alkyl or aryl;
- Ar is phenyl, indanyl, benzhydryl, or phenyl substituted with one or more members selected from the group consisting of halogen, lower alkyl, perfluoroalkyl, lower alkoxy, perfluoroalkylalkoxy, dialkylamino, and aryloxy;
- or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
A pharmaceutical composition comprising an antiatherosclerotic compound of the formula:
- wherein
- R is lower alkyl;
- R1 is hydroxy, amino, or lower alkoxy;
- R2 and R3 are each independently hydrogen, alkyl or aryl;
- Ar is phenyl, indanyl, benzhydryl, or phenyl substituted with one or more member selected from the group consisting of halogen, lower alkyl, perfluoroalkyl, lower alkoxy, perfluoroalkylalkoxy, dialkylamino, and aryloxy;
- or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
A method of treating atherosclerosis in a mammal in need thereof, which comprises administering to said mammal an anti-atherosclerotic effective amount of a compound of the formula:
- wherein
- R is lower alkyl;
- R1 is hydroxy, amino, or lower alkoxy,
