Abstract
The present invention is directed to humanized antibodies which bind human gp39 and their use as therapeutic agents. These humanized antibodies are especially useful for treatment of autoimmune diseases; and an immunosuppressant during transplantation of heterologous cells, tissues or organs, cell therapy, and gene therapy.
Claims16
A method of treating an autoimmune disease in a subject in need of such treatment by administering a therapeutically effective amount of a humanized antibody or antigen binding fragment that specifically binds the CD40 ligand, wherein said humanized antibody or fragment thereof contains a variable light sequence which comprises the amino acid sequence encoded by the nucleic acid sequence having SEQ ID NO:24 or SEQ ID NO:25 and said humanized antibody or fragment thereof contains a variable heavy sequence which comprises the amino acid sequence encoded by the nucleic acid sequence having SEQ ID NO:26.
A method of treating multiple sclerosis in a subject in need of such treatment by administering a therapeutically effective amount of a humanized antibody or antigen binding fragment that specifically the CD40 ligand, wherein said humanized antibody or fragment thereof contains a variable light sequence which comprises the amino acid sequence encoded by the nucleic acid sequence having SEQ ID NO:24 or SEQ ID NO:25 and said humanized antibody or fragment thereof contains a variable heavy sequence which comprises the amino acid sequence encoded by the nucleic acid sequence having SEQ ID NO:26.
