Fluid well pump

A method for pumping a fluid from a well to a storage chamber, comprising:

• (a) providing at least a well pump comprising a first fluid chamber located below the fluid level down the well and a second fluid chamber above and connected to said first fluid chamber, wherein said first fluid chamber and said second fluid chamber each include a pressurized gas aperture and a fluid aperture,
• (b) providing a control unit comprising:
• a pressurized gas source connected to said first fluid chamber with a first control valve therebetween operable between at least a first “on” position to connect said first fluid chamber to said pressurized gas source and a second “off” position to isolate said first fluid chamber from said pressurized gas source,
• said pressurized gas source further connected to said second fluid chamber with a second control valve therebetween operable between at least a first “on” position to connect said second fluid chamber to said pressurized gas source and a second “off” position to isolate said second fluid chamber from said pressurized gas source,
• a controller operable to switch said first and second control valves between said first and second positions,
• a first exhaust port connected to said first fluid chamber for venting said first fluid chamber when said first control valve is in said second “off” position,
• a second exhaust port connected to said second fluid chamber for venting said second fluid chamber when said second control valve is in said second “off” position,
• a timing source for providing clock signals to said controller,
• a gas save valve connected to said controller having a first “open” position for venting one of said first and second exhaust ports through a third exhaust port and a second “closed” position connecting said first and second exhaust ports and isolating said third exhaust port,
• a gas flow sensor connected to said third exhaust port,
• (c) filling said first fluid chamber with fluid under natural well pressure,
• (d) venting said first fluid chamber to atmosphere while filling,
• (e) providing pressurized gas to said first fluid chamber, whereby said compressed gas drives fluid out of said first fluid chamber into said second fluid chamber,
• (f) monitoring a time for which said compressed gas is provided to said first fluid chamber,
• (g) generating a switching event signal at least a portion of which is based on said monitored time,
• (h) switching said first control valve to said second “off” position, and
• (i) switching said second control valve to said first “on” position.

A method for pumping a fluid from a well to a storage chamber, comprising:

• (a) providing at least a well pump comprising, at least a first fluid pumping stage located below the fluid level in the well and a second fluid pumping stage above said first fluid pumping stage, said first fluid pumping stage comprising:
• a first fluid chamber having a top portion with a compressed gas aperture and a bottom portion including a fluid aperture,
• a first intake conduit including one end open to receive fluid from the well and an opposite end in fluid communication with said fluid aperture of said first fluid chamber, said first fluid intake conduit including a first check valve disposed in said conduit between said proximal end and said distal end of said first fluid intake conduit,
• a first float disposed in said first chamber, said first float having a buoyancy in said fluid to permit said first float to rise and fall with the fluid level of the fluid in said first chamber between said compressed gas aperture and said fluid aperture,
• a first fluid output conduit in fluid communication with said first fluid chamber and a second fluid chamber of said second fluid pumping stage, said first fluid output conduit including at least a second check valve,
• said second fluid pumping stage comprising:
• said second fluid chamber having a top portion with a compressed gas aperture and a bottom portion with a fluid aperture in communication with said first fluid output conduit above said second check valve,
• a second float disposed in said second chamber, said first float having a buoyancy in said fluid to permit said first float to rise and fall with the fluid level of the fluid in said first chamber between said compressed gas aperture and said fluid aperture, and
• a second fluid output conduit in fluid communication with said second fluid chamber above said second check valve in fluid communication with the storage chamber, said second fluid output conduit including at least a third check valve;
• (b) filling said first fluid pumping stage with fluid through said first fluid intake conduit under natural well pressure, and venting said first fluid pumping stage to atmosphere while filling;
• (c) providing a compressed gas to said first fluid chamber through a first compressed gas line connected to said gas aperture of said first fluid chamber, whereby said fluid is driven out of said first fluid chamber into said first fluid output conduit;
• (d) sealing said fluid aperture of said first fluid chamber with said first float when said first fluid chamber is substantially empty, and while compressed gas is being provided to said first fluid chamber after step (c);
• (e) turning off said compressed gas to said first fluid chamber after step (d);
• (f) providing a compressed gas to said second fluid chamber through a second compressed gas line connected to said gas aperture of said second fluid chamber, whereby said fluid is driven out of said second fluid chamber into said second fluid output conduit;
• (g) sealing said fluid aperture of said second fluid chamber with said second float when said second fluid chamber is substantially empty, and while compressed gas is being provided to said second fluid chamber after step (f);
• (h) turning off said compressed gas to said second fluid chamber after step (g) based on an indication of a reduced gas flow exiting the first compressed gas line at a time when compressed gas is being provided to said second compressed gas line;
• (i) after step (h) repeating steps (b) through (d);
• (j) after step (e), repeating steps (f)-(h).

A method for pumping a fluid from a well to a storage chamber, comprising:

• (a) providing at least a well pump comprising at least a first fluid pumping stage located below the fluid level in the well and a second fluid pumping stage above said first fluid pumping stage, said first fluid pumping stage including a first fluid chamber and said second pumping stage including a second fluid chamber;
• (b) filling said first fluid chamber with fluid through a first fluid intake conduit under natural well pressure, and venting said first fluid pumping stage to atmosphere while filling;
• (c) providing a compressed gas to said first fluid chamber through a first compressed gas line connected to said first fluid chamber, whereby said fluid is driven out of said first fluid chamber toward said second fluid chamber;
• (d) sealing said first fluid chamber when said first fluid chamber is substantially empty and while compressed gas is being provided to said first fluid chamber;
• (e) turning off said compressed gas to said first fluid chamber after step (d);
• (f) providing a compressed gas to said second fluid chamber through a second compressed gas line connected to said second fluid chamber, whereby said fluid is driven out of said second fluid chamber toward the storage chamber;
• (g) sealing said second fluid chamber when said second fluid chamber is substantially empty and while compressed gas is being provided to said second fluid chamber;
• and
• (h) turning off said compressed gas to said second fluid chamber after step (g) based on an indication of a reduced gas flow exiting the first compressed gas line at a time when compressed gas is being provided to said second compressed gas line.
