Abstract
Bicycloheptene compounds represented by general formula (1) and being useful as intermediates for the production of agricultural chemicals or drugs (wherein X is hydroxycarbonyl, hydroxymethyl, halogenomethyl, nitromethyl, or methylthiomethyl); and a process for the preparation of compounds of general formula (1), characterized by reacting 5,5-dimethoxy-1,2,3,4-tetrachlorocyclopentadiene with a compound represented by general formula (2) (wherein X is as defined above)

- (wherein, X is hydroxycarbonyl, hydroxymethyl, halogenomethyl, nitromethyl or methylthiomethyl).
A process for the production of a compound of Formula (1)
- (wherein, X is hydroxycarbonyl, hydroxymethyl, halogenomethyl, nitromethyl or methylthiomethyl) by a reaction of 5,5-dimethoxy-1,2,3,4-tetrachlorocyclopentadiene with a compound of Formula (2)
- CH3CH═CH—X (2)
- (wherein X is as defined above).
Trans-1,4,5,6-tetrachloro-3-methyl-7,7-dimethoxybicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-ene-2-carboxylic acid.
Cis-1,4,5,6-tetrachloro-3-methyl-7,7-dimethoxybicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-ene-2-carboxylic acid.
A process for the production of trans-1,4,5,6-tetrachloro-3-methyl-7,7-dimethoxybicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-ene-2-carboxylic acid by reacting (E)-2-butenic acid with 5,5-dimethoxy-1,2,3,4-tetrachlorocyclopentadiene and isolating the product from the obtained adducts.
A process for the production of cis-1,4,5,6-tetrachloro-3-methyl-7,7-dimethoxybicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-ene-2-carboxylic acid by reacting (Z)-2-butenic acid with 5,5-dimethoxy-1,2,3,4-tetrachlorocyclopentadiene and isolating the product from the obtained adducts.
