Abstract
Improved cholesteric special-effect layers are obtainable by comminuting cholesteric layers. These cholesteric layers are produced by applying at least one layer of a reactive, pourable cholesteric mixture to a moving substrate, by casting, and forming a solid cholesteric layer.
Claims29

- applying at least one layer of a curable, pourable cholesteric mixture to a substrate and forming a solid cholesteric layer,
- wherein said solid cholesteric layer has a mean fluctuation in layer thickness of less than ±0.2 μm.
A cholesteric material comprising at least one cholesteric layer that has a mean fluctuation in layer thickness of less than ±0.2 μm.
A product or composition comprising a cholesteric material comprising at least one cholesteric layer that has a mean fluctuation in layer thickness of less than ±0.2 μm.
