Abstract
The invention relates to a procedure for preparing a feed additive, in which a brewing yeast raw material containing oligosaccharides and/or polysaccharides is filtered and treated hydrolytically so that the cell wall structure is opened.

A process for preparing a feed additive for use in the prevention of gastric disorders, intestinal diseases and the promotion of growth in animals, which comprises filtering a brewing yeast raw material and treating the filtered brewing yeast raw material hydrolytically to open the cell wall structure to increase the amount of free oligosaccharides and free polysaccharides and oligosaccharides and polysaccharides on the surface of the cell wall.
