Abstract
The present invention provides nucleic acid sequences from embryo-specific genes. The nucleic acids are useful in targeting gene expression to zygotes and embryos or in modulating embryo development.
Claims9
A method of targeting expression of a polynucleotide in a seed, the method comprising introducing into a plant a LEC1 promoter operably linked to a heterologous polynucleotide sequence, wherein the LEC1 promoter is at least 70% identical to a polynucleotide sequence consisting of nucleotides 1 to 1998 of SEQ ID NO:3.
A method of targeting expression of a polynucleotide in a zygote, the method comprising introducing into a plant a LEC1 promoter operably linked to a heterologous polynucleotide sequence, wherein the LEC1 promoter is at least 70% identical to a polynucleotide sequence consisting of nucleotides 1 to 1998 of SEQ ID NO:3.
