Abstract
There is provided compounds of formula I, wherein R1 represents C3-5 alkyl; and R2 and R3 independently represent C1-3 alkyl; provided that when R2 and R3 both represent ethyl, then R1 does not represent n-butyl, i-butyl or n-pentyl; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, which are useful as anaesthetics, in particular local anaesthetics and especially topically applied local anaesthetics.

A compound of formula I,
- wherein
- R1 represents C3-5 alkyl;
- and
- R2 and R3 independently represent C1-3 alkyl;
- provided that when R2 and R3 both represent ethyl, then R1 does not represent n-butyl i-butyl or n-pentyl;
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

A method of providing analgesia or anesthesia to a patient, comprising administering to said patient a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of formula I:
- wherein
- R1 represents C3-5 alkyl;
- and
- R2 and R3 independently represent C1-3 alkyls;
- with the proviso that when R2 and R3 are both ethyl, then R1 is not n-butyl, i-butyl or n-pentyl;
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
