Abstract
A support assembly for supporting an object on a floor. The support assembly includes a support bracket releasably mounted to the leg member. The support bracket and leg member are adapted so as to permit the support bracket to be rotated between at least three positions relative to the leg member. In one preferred embodiment, one of the support bracket and leg member comprise a post member and the other of the support bracket and leg member comprises a socket shaped to receive the post member.
Claims39
A support assembly for supporting an object on a floor, said support assembly comprising:
- a leg member having a longitudinal axis;
- a support bracket releasably mounted to said leg member;
- and
- wherein one of said support bracket and said leg member comprises a post member, and the other of said support bracket and said leg member comprises a socket shaped to receive said post member, and wherein said post member and said socket are shaped such that said support bracket and said leg member can be releasably mounted to the other of said support bracket and said leg member in one of at least three positions, wherein said support bracket and said leg member are rotated about said longitudinal axis 45 degrees relative to the other between a first position and second position, and wherein said support bracket and said leg member are rotated about said longitudinal axis 45 degrees relative to the other between said second position and a third position.
A support assembly for supporting an object on a floor, said assembly comprising:
- a leg member;
- and
- a support bracket releasably mounted to said leg member;
- wherein one of said support bracket and said leg member comprises a multi-faceted post member, and the other of said support bracket and said leg member comprises a socket shaped to receive said post member in one of at least three positions with a 45 degree rotation between at least two of the three positions.
A support assembly for supporting an object on a floor, said assembly comprising:
- a vertically extending support member defining a longitudinal axis;
- and
- a support bracket releasably mountable to said support member in at least a first position and a second position, wherein said support bracket is rotated about said longitudinal axis approximately 45 degrees between said first and second positions, and wherein said support bracket is non-rotatably mounted to said support member in each of said first and second positions such that said support bracket is prevented from rotating about said longitudinal axis when mounted to said support member in each of said first and second positions, and wherein said support bracket is further releasably mountable to said support member in a third position, wherein said support bracket is rotated about said longitudinal axis approximately 45 degrees between said second and third positions.
A method for reconfiguring a support assembly comprising:
- providing a vertically extending support member defining a longitudinal axis and a support bracket;
- mounting said support bracket to said support member in a first position, wherein said support bracket is non-rotatable about said longitudinal axis;
- removing said support bracket from said support member in said first position;
- mounting said support bracket to said support member in a second position, wherein said support bracket is non-rotatable about said longitudinal axis, and wherein said support bracket is rotated about said longitudinal axis approximately 45 degrees between said first and second positions;
- and
- removing said support bracket from said support member in one of said first and second positions, and mounting said support bracket to said support member in a third position, wherein said support bracket is non-rotatable about said longitudinal axis, and wherein said support bracket is rotated about said longitudinal axis approximately 45 degrees between said second and third positions.
