Abstract
Tin alkoxide compounds are provided with accessible electrons. The tin alkoxide compound have the general formula (THME)2Sn3(M(L)x)y, where THME is (O—CH2)3C(CH3), M is a metal atom selected from Sn and Ti, L is an organic/inorganic ligand selected from an alkoxide, a phenoxide or an amide, x is selected from 2 and 4 and y is selected from 0 and 1. These compounds have applicability as base catalysts in reactions and in metal-organic chemical vapor depositions processes.
Claims14
The tin alkoxide compound comprising (THME)2Sn3(M(L)x)y, wherein THME is (O—CH2)3C(CH3), M is a metal atom selected from Sn and Ti, L is an organic/inorganic ligand selected from an alkoxide, a phenoxide and an amide, x is selected from 2 and 4 and y is selected from 0 and 1.
A method of making a tin alkoxide compound (THME)2Sn3 comprising, mixing in a non-reactive solvent, (HO—CH2)3C(CH3) with a tin compound selected from Sn(N(CH3)2)2 and Sn(N(Si(CH3)3)2)2.
A method of making a tin alkoxide compound (THME)2Sn4(μ-OR)2 comprising, mixing in a non-reactive solvent (THME)2Sn3 and Sn(OR)2 wherein OR is selected from OCH2C(CH3)3 and μ-OC6H3(CH3)2-2,6.
A method of making a tin alkoxide compound (THME)2Sn3Ti(OCH2C(CH3)3)4 comprising, mixing in a non-reactive solvent (THME)2Sn3 and Ti(OR)4 wherein OR is selected from OCH2C(CH3)3.
A method of making a tin alkoxide compound (THME)2Sn4(N(Si(CH3)3)2)2 comprising, mixing in a non-reactive solvent (HO—CH2)3C(CH3) and Sn(N(Si(CH3)3)2)2.
